Dipping "Sauce" for Steak

My husband and I were looking for a steak 'sauce' alternative and I found this one.  I made it a little healthier with the substitution of a few ingredients, and this recipe makes PLENTY.  If you are cooking for two, I would definitely cut this in half.  This was way too much for just my hubby and me, but it was so darn good.  Don't be put off by the soy sauce... you'd be hard pressed to tell it's in there, and if you did, it's not overpowering.  The hubs is not a fan of soy sauce at all and he loved the steak dipping sauce just as much as I did.  Granted, with a whole stick of butter, it certainly isn't healthy, but you can make it a little less terrible by using Splenda and low sodium soy sauce.

Dipping Sauce for Steak

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 C. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 TBSP. brown sugar (we used Splenda)
  • 1/3 C. soy sauce (we used reduced sodium)
  • 10 TBSP. water
Directions:

In bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, and water.  Microwave on medium until warm, then stir until brown sugar is dissolved.   Add melted butter and mix until combined.  Serve in little cups with steak.  Dip & enjoy!
